Consideration of Physiological Monitoring in the Study of Anxiety Research

Anxiety disorders have become a silent pandemic worldwide with an alarming rate of increasing incidence in modern lifestyle. Therefore, an ardent need to a new perspective on the biology of anxiety disorder has become essential. Based on previous research, changes in physiological responses have been suggested as a novel approach in identifying and as an indicator of brain dysfunction in anxiety disorder. Several researchers attempted to highlight that physiological responses such as Electrodermal Response (EDA), Heart Rate Variability (HRV), startle, etc. can be influenced by anxiety disorders. This review summarizes the idea that physiological responses should be considered an early measure of anxiety disorder, hence proposing a possibility for tackling anxiety disorders
