INTRODUCTION: In the city of Wuhan, the epicenter in Hubei province, China, in December 2019, 27 cases associated with pneumonia of unknown origin were reported. In assessing recurrent cases, the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and Chinese health authorities identified it as a new Coronavirus, OBJECTIVES: this study was to analyze articles about the updates of COVID-19, Estimate the risk of the newborn being infected with SARS-VOC-2 by mode of delivery, type of infant feeding and mother-baby interaction. MATERIAL AND METHODS: A bibliographic search was carried out in the database of Scielo (Scientific Electronic Library Online, PUBMED) in the research the articles that addressed the theme About COVID-19, from May to September 2020. RESULTS: 49 studies were included, which included 670 newborns and 660 women, where information about the delivery mechanism and the infection status of the newborn was provided. 28/666 (4%) newborns had confirmed post-natal COVID-19 infection. Of the 291 women who had a vaginal delivery, 8/292 (2.7%) of the newborns were positive. Of the 364 women who had a cesarean delivery, 20/374 (5.3%) neonates were positive. Of the 28 newborns with confirmed infection by COVID-19.
